We are delighted to announce that Dr. Nadia Marzouki will join the line-up of speakers at this year’s UCSIA Summer School. She will be joining previously confirmed speakers Vlad Naumescu and Yasmin Moll.
Dr. Marzouki is a research fellow at the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) and holds a doctorate in political science from Sciences Po. Her research explores the intersections of religion and politics in Europe, North America, and North Africa, with extensive fieldwork experience in the United States, Italy, Algeria, and Tunisia.
She is the author of Islam, An American Religion (Columbia University Press, 2017) and has also co-edited several influential volumes on religious conversion, populism, and counter-radicalization policies. Her current book project examines theo-moral mobilisations of civil disobedience and their role in shaping new democratic imaginaries.
We look forward to welcoming Dr. Marzouki and are excited for the insights she will bring to our discussions.
